Shamed?
Re-read his post.
The property was willing to waive the cancellation penalty for the day he was unable to make it to the property -- which apparently contrary to his post, already had past, as Vick SoCal makes plain above -- so long as he were to re-book the award night/stay at the property for another date and honor that reservation.
Inasmuch as he said he was unable to make the trip since his flight was canceled out from under him by the airline -- thus making another trip to that destination fee free on the airline's part -- it appears that there is nothing standing in his way to make the journey to the ski destination at another date -- with his same air carrier and rewards night in place.
Shaming, indeed, is uncalled for.
I would like to know the name of the destination for another purpose -- it seems to me that their requests are quite understandable and helpful and were I in a similar situation, I would like to be faced with such a like "hardship."
