Yeah, pretty much all the airlines do this. It makes no sense in my eyes and just drives customer dissatisfaction. Why should a refundable and non-refundable ticket cost different amounts? If I cancel or change my ticket 30 days out, it's not like the Airline can't resell that seat to someone else.

Hotels do it all the time. At the very least have a reasonable fee to change the ticket. If I want to come home earlier/later and I'm still flying on the same airline, why charge me so much just to change the flight? Why not a reasonable fee or just the fare difference?

Unfortunately airlines don't care about customer satisfaction these days. They all have the same policies more or less and they're all following the trend of providing as little leg room as possible. The airlines have made flying torturous for most people these days
