Did I missed any new development, probably not !
No, you didn't miss anything. If there's any new development w/r/t investigation, it's not released to the public yet.
My guess is since search for the missing had been completed, the investigation will keep pace with government protocols and/or bureaucracy. It took 5 months to release the flight recorder report on GE222, I doubt reports on GE235 would move any faster.
Also keep in mind, Lunar New Year is just around the corner. More festival coverage on the big traditional holidays shall be expected this coming week.

Agreed. It could potentially open a can of worms if it is proven the pilots flying the ATR's were simply not good enough or trained enough to operate passenger aircraft and there was serious neg. on the part of the management of the airline..and the fact Taiwanese CAA were also very slack in evaluating the standards of pilots at the airline..
I doubt we will see anything pointing back at the authorities if they have it their way.
If you were referring to GE222, the final report from ASC won't be ready
until October 2015.
The latest GE222 press release was the flight recorder report on December 26, 2014. Before the final reports on both crashes from the authorities are available, everyone can only draw their own conclusions.
