Be warned people. Be very careful if you look to book with ebookers or Emirates.

They offer cheap tickets because they hide the fact that they are NON refundable and if you need to make a change due to unforeseen circumstances they make a hefty and i mean hefty charge!

My example:-

Cost of return flight to Bangkok from Birmingham £496. Good eh? Family issue arises (not covered by insurance) and I need to come home 4 days earlier - £386 to change one leg home. If I cancel £86 refund! Change the outgoing leg instead and its £455......... Cheaper to cancel and book a new flight with Evair out of Heathrow.

Ebookers blame Emirates. Emirates customer services do not want to know!

You need to understand the pitfalls of booking with ebookers and Emirates. fore warned is fore armed.

I am told by the "know it all's" on this forum "what did I exepect" and "I'm stupid". Well easy for them to say when they understand the booking fares on airlines. They state Emirates are no different than other airlines but i can say in my previous experience with Evair I was given a 50% refund and a competitively priced new return flight.

Book directly with an Airline not ebookers and make sure you check with the agent what the fares ( as best as possible) and charges are should you have a problem that is not covered by insurance. Not all Airlines are as expensive as Emirates to make a change if required so shop around.

Emirates boasts about top service but do not deliver when you need them. Talk is cheap. Scripted replies following emails asking for help are sent back from Emirates. Non seasoned travellers like me dont know to check hidden T&C's within ebookers website BE WARNED PEOPLE.

I hope this helps others as they can learn from my mistake or ignorance.
