The only exception I can think of is if you are pre-cleared (BA1 or flights from SNN & DUB) and are connecting onwards and your onward connection happens to be from the same terminal or at a terminal with an airside post security connection route (e.g. DFW).
Off topic: Well only BA 1 to UA since the security screening is done by LCY not under TSA approval (?), although probably a rare (and offline) transit. I admit I was being a bit cheeky
In all other preclearance cases you would be screened to TSA standards, I believe, and then arrive ready for domestic connections.
What is the DFW "airside post security connection route"?
