If you're interested in earning AA miles, your comparison is the cheapest AA seat or the AA codeshare price on CX (which earns EQM EQP as if you were flying on AA) and Cathay H economy fare (the lowest economy fare class that earns AA miles).
If the EQ miles are unimportant, fly the cheapest deal you can find.
