Not as bad as FHR's discretionary early check-in though! I mean, what use is that?! They give it to anyone if the room is ready and no way am I going to purposely arrive early at a hotel with my kids if my early check in is not guaranteed. I will take a later flight and arrive at 2pm.
Reminds me of InterCon Amstel last year. When I arrived I was given a list of Ambassador benefits which included (only at this property) guaranteed noon check in. But they don't tell you until you arrive, at the usual check in time!
