I already mention what I have now in my car. Now since I am soon flying with my 14 month boy, You suggest the cosco car seat ($50) in plane seat? http://www.amazon.com/Cosco-Scenera-.../dp/B007TD9JC6

Will I have to buy another car seat for my boy when he becomes around age 2? That is called booster seat right?
Since your son is already over a year, all the suggestions that I can see are convertibles for older children. Whether it's allowed on your airline, depends on your airline. I know U.S. air rules and any car seat (foreign included) that is approved for air travel is allowed. Tip: if it needs a 3 point belt, it probably isn't. Most car seats sold in N.America are approved for air travel.

Your child should be rear-facing until at least age 2 and don't even think about a booster till he's at least 4 or 5. These are the current regulations. Make sure he's rear-facing now to prevent injury in an accident.

Go over to carseat.org for more information about car seat safety and how to pick a seat.
