Despite claims that UA are winning the PR war, I don't see how they come off looking good in this one. They've done so little to engender goodwil that I think most members of the travelling public would be glad to see the prols score a few points.
This airline has mismanaged itself for years, and every time it reaches insolvency it runs to the US government teet. After soaking the taxpayer, it returns to soaking its customers.
I am no UA troll. I think I have flown them once in the last 3 years. I don't think they're "Winning" a PR war. Because I'm not sure there is a PR war. And, if there is, they aren't losing it among the general population and customer base. Even in our community I would say it's not clear if they are losing the PR war.
