First, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Somewhat appropriately, but inconveniently for replying, I’m on a cruise right now, and have erratic connectivity.

Thanks for the info. The taxes and fees are coming from the cruiseline directly, but it’s certainly possible that it’s pulling the wrong field. I did my last spot check a couple of weeks ago and all the taxes matched the lines’ website. I’ll send you an email for the specifics of your trip to see what’s going on, as you’re 100% correct that they should be the same.

Regarding the fares, you’re bang-on there - they are the best-available rates but do not reflect any residency, military, loyalty or other type of discount not available to everyone. Adding this functionality is on the feature list, but it’s not the highest priority for us since we’ve found that these discounts, while welcome, don’t really turn expensive cruises into cheap and we’re spending our time adding more lines instead.

By that, I mean a relatively expensive cruise isn’t getting a 50% discount using these, and so if we do the detailed quote for a few voyages that look interesting on the cruiseline site to check our discounts, we’re pretty comfortable that we’re covered. If cruiselines really are offering huge discounts through this method, please let me know so – maybe we’ll try to make it a higher priority feature.
