Third option is to cancel the tickets if it's more than 72 hours before departure time, redeposit the miles ($150 fee per ticket if miles weren't from a DM or PM account), and then start over to find award inventory for the same price, which should be 12,500 miles per one way domestic coach ticket in low, not 12,000 as the OP stated.

BTW, if it's within 72 hours of departure, even if it's within the 24 hours, IIRC you cannot cancel.
