As a GGL who flies exclusively in J or higher I've had a pretty phenomenal op-up record over the last few years and while this change is obviously disappointing (if true) I can understand the rationale. Having a hard-coded limit of three seems pretty harsh though given that many of us do hundreds of segments in paid business class on BA each year. I guess it would explain why I stopped getting upgraded mid January though...
The previous "recently upgraded" or a percentage limit seems much fairer.
I was just about to IM eae to see if he'd seen this thread

As a relatively new BA member (GGL+CCR) who flies exclusively in J or F, my op-up rate has been nowhere near eae's. I've gotten one op-up on BA and one on AA (both J->F). If this is true, I'm even more likely to stop flying BA (I started in September, am at 6,130 TP now and have another 1,000TP booked) and go back to DL. I don't "expect" it but had made my purchasing decision based on eae's historical opup rate. If that's not what I can expect, I think I'm perfectly justified in moving my spend elsewhere.
