Peru Itinerary Critique, Please

I think that I have my itinerary worked out for Peru, but wanted to get some feedback before I book the last parts. I got an award ticket there and back (40k total), so that is covered, but how to break the time there is something that I've been debating.

My main concern is with the return: I will need a return ticket CUZ-LIM and that will be on a different PNR. My schedule allows me to absorb up to a 8 hour delay without much issue. Part of me says, "no big deal", but I've also read some reports about cancellations that affect basically that whole day. That would be bad for me.

6/24: Depart US, Red eye to YYZ
6/25: Day in YYZ (yah?), Depart afternoon to LIM
6/26: Arrive at 0050. Stay in Lima.
6/27: Stay in Lima
6/28: Travel to Cuzco
6/29: Travel to MP
6/30: Return to Cuzco from MP
7/1: Stay in Cuzco
7/2: Leave on morning flight to LIM (Currently looking at Peruvian Airlines at 1040, arrive 1150), Depart LIM at 2250 (11 hour layover/day in Lima)

Thoughts? I have considered putting Cuzco first and ending in Lima, but I would like to end of a high note. I expect Lima to be nice, but a little on the cold side because it is Winter. Cuzco looks amazing, so I'd like to spend more time there.

Thanks!
