Anyone have experience purchasing the high speed data pack and using it in the UK, France, UAE, Australia, and/or Hong Kong? Going on a RTW next week and trying to decide if the 2 week/500mb pack is worth the price for these countries. We will be in major cities the entire time. Many thanks in advance!
Used it in France, UK and HK no issues; works well and if the devices supports global LTE on some networks you will get really fast speeds. What I do is add that high speed to my iPad ONLY that way I'm not using up paid MB's when I need specific apps I use on my iPad, I keep my phone on free 128KB so to not eat into MB use for simple emails, social media low bandwidth stuff, etc.
One thing I've been doing lately with the T-Mobile free 128Kb for my phone is I paid the $9 for Boingo on a smartphone; MANY places I drop into have Boingo roaming support and worst case I at least fall back to free T-Mobile data.
