Ok, so let me make up for my blunder. I hope you don't mind flying into OAK. You have lots of time to take the BART to San Fran...

Let's try this:

APR15 AA1524 ORD-BWI DEP 1206 ARR 1455 (611)
APR15 AA4803 BWI-JFK DEP 1600 ARR 1705 (500)
APR15 AA273 JFK-OAK DEP 1810 ARR 2153 (2561)

3672 Q-miles, plus 2500 JFK-OAK AA promo (should call AAdvantage to check whether or not a one way qualifies for half the promo) plus another 3672 platinum miles.

Total fare: $488.50 for ORD-BWI-JFK and $157.50 for JFK-OAK for a total of: $646.00

How to book:
You have to buy two separate tickets because the JFK-OAK is an L fare (with 3 day advance purchase) while ORD-JFK is a pair of H fares.

You can do this via AA.com

First plug in ORD-JFK one way, pick the above flights for the $488 price.
Then buy JFK-OAK one way, again same flight for $157

You can probably book these via AA phone reservations. Again, you have to buy two separate tickets as otherwise, you'd have to for a full fare Y JFK-OAK which brings the total to over $1100.

I hope that helps.
