Thank you to everyone here who encouraged me to go ahead and book flights to Australia without a return flight. I was nervous I wasn't going to be able to find return flights. I have been checking every day multiple times and got the exact flights we wanted on the return trip. It does pay to be patient. We'll be in Sydney for New Year's Eve!
