I'm sort of new to Avis. I have been renting from National lately. I found out via my CC I can get Avis First status. So I signed up. I do like the variety of cars vs National's selection. However, the prices do not compare. I mostly rent from ATL airport. National is by far cheaper then Avis. I figure I must be missing something ( i.e. discount codes, coupons..etc ).

Example - I currently have a weekend rental Fri-Mon with National - 2015 Tahoe LTZ - price 30 dollars plus tax = 50 dollars and some change ( this did include a 20 dollar off special coupon code readily available on the site. Also I am Executive level not Elite yet but soon.

I can't come close to that cost with Avis at all.

With National I can pick any vehicle up in the Executive aisles ( be it car/truck/sports car ). Not sure if Avis allows that or am i stuck with the option to choose any "full" size car if that is what I reserve.

Just looking for some pointers to make Avis cost effective for me so I can utilize being an Avis First customer.
