i usually make a rewards account before applying for the credit card and fill it out the # in the application.
Usually when you leave it blank the card issuers would create an account for you.
I thought the reward account # would be in the statement or chase when you log in, but I just checked mine and it's not there. Maybe try calling them or sending a secure message to find out?
The status should be instant since as long as you have the card, you have the status. but maybe the more experienced members here would know more...
