Nothing OP says is wrong -- UA is moving up a bit, AA down a bit -- both airlines service varies widely. When AA does get its new J in -- already in the 77Ws it will be well ahead of the two UA J products. That said, the AA 763 product is probably about equal.

I agree with OP -- take the airline with the best schedule and if you dont have status buy F if you can.
