Congratulations on maintaining diamond- as a token of our appreciation- is what the banner says.

I am really hoping I get an alternative great thing happen with Hilton, like lifetime Diamond, but in the mean time-

I didn't get it. Many years as a Diamond, nearly 1000 lifetime nights, brand loyal to the point I would drive a few miles further to stay.

But this time no one has congratulated me or rewarded my loyalty. I have no promo, when silvers can sign up and get 100000 points bonus....

For the first time ever I am looking away to a new chain. This "promo" has made me consider this, which I haven't considered for years.

The nice lady at Marriott said they would give me Platinum with 9 stays in 3 months. I can easily do that if I don't stay at Hiltons. For trying it, they will give me a free night after my second stay. I haven't looked in any other promos. I already have a stay at Courtyard Gatwick and Renaissance Heathrow booked. I'm trying it! I have a free night!

Why? After being brand loyal and a massive fan of Hilton for so long, encouraging other members to join, how can such a divisive promo like this run? I might not like Marriott, I might like it a lot, but I cannot believe all did not at least get the 2x or 3x points if nothing else.
