I am in the same boat as others, I don't do specific tier point runs, but I do try to maximize the points. Like for business I have to go California to Indiana once a month and I try to do 5-6 segment trips instead of 4 and defiantly avoiding the "direct" US flight, which has a stop in Phoenix and would only give 60TPs in F.

As it stands my "tier point" run will be me flying back to Germany to visit family and either get my 4 flights on BA that way or in case I can find redemption seats, I would incorporate a stop-over in London and do two round trips inside the UK.

At the current rate, not counting visiting Germany, I will be at around 60 flights this year for both work and vacation.
