I am not particularly emotionally invested in what a corporation chooses to do with its incentive programs. It is all just part of the equation when you decide where to spend your money. When the new RDM earning formula came out and there was all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, I pointed out that it could actually make the RDM more valuable, if the awards were more available and/or if more tickets became available for fewer miles.
Unfortunately, and this is not a scientific analysis, the opposite seems to have occurred. The award levels seem to have become very unattractive. While availability may be reasonable, I am now seeing many awards priced at more than 1 cent per mile. Delta's FF program as a whole definitely seems to be less attractive to me and has made me shop on price alone, which I never did in the past.

Also, in the past, I felt that giving up the 1.5-2.0 % rebate on other credit cards was OK if I could get at least 1% on my Delta CC spend (1mile = 1 cent/dollar). Now keeping a Delta CC is clearly less worthwhile as I am losing more than 1% on my CC spend compared to other CC.
