No idea, sorry. The credit you get is an AmEx credit, so the subsequent flight has to be booked via AmEx. I would assume that if you didn't manage to use the entire credit with one flight, you would be able to use the remaining value on another flight.
Thanks. I cross posted this over at AFF where some have said the new flight must equal or greater to the credit given. Will see how it will pan out, got a reserve and the VA plat AMEX cards each having different T&C. Oddly enough the VA plat still quotes 50 dollar VA change fee from 2011, and claims no cancellations, just changes and must be kept to the same route.
