Yep- that time I did. It printed a rate reference slip, asked me to select yes/no to the CAD rate given on the PIN pad, and I selected "yes".

DCC isn't something to worry about in Japan- yet. At least if J-MUPS is the acquirer and you're using a chip card you will be given a choice on the PIN pad.
