I spent last week in Germany and decided to buy myself a Rimowa Salsa - those new matte colours look really nice in my opinion.

Unfortunately, on my very first flight with it (FRA-LAX), it took quite a hit:




I was expecting scuffs and scratches, but that looks like a near puncture! The shell is intact, but the suitcase looks like it was hit by something heavy and sharp.
Rimowa owners: have any of you experienced something like this before?

Unfortunately the closest Rimowa centre is not withing driving distance.
I am going to try and see if I can lodge a claim with LH.

Do any of you seasoned travellers have opinions or suggestions?
