A couple of days ago I connected in YYZ from BR J to AC Y on an aeroplan J redemption and was denied MLL access. I know my outbound flight was Y, but is the ticket not considered J and was I not eligible for entry? I've been in this situation a couple of times before and was admitted but I would like to know the correct answer in this situation.

Typically flights in & out of YOW on these mini RTW's are the hardest for me to get and often in Y. I'm fine with that given the overall value and in this case it was a short connection so I didn't argue with them. But it's often several hours and I'd like to be clear on the policy for next time.
