Even going to FRA there's a later flight. But going to Asia? You're toast. Now back to "kettle wisdom", how is it not deceptive?
You have a 3-h connection. GDP issued by 7 am. Your 9 am flight out of LAX is allegedly on time. Then at 8:15, first 1-h delay announcement. Too late to jump ship to the 8 am LAX-SFO. Then after 9 am, successive progressive delay announcements. And eventually you miss your TPAC flight. If you're lucky, you pay for two shuttle rides back to OC or SGV or the IE. If not, you pay for a motel near SFO with no transport for food other than pizza delivery. I've advised two of my friends calling from LAX/SFO and they will never fly UA TPAC anymore, at least not from LAX.
I understand what you mean in term of the events leading to the IRROPS.
You still did not explain how it is deceptive. At the least, you have nothing to support that UA gains from these IRROPS. What will UA gain by delaying these transit?
I am not saying UA is not responsible. But UA does suffer from IRROPS as well.
