As far as I know there is no mechanism for being put on the waitlist when you're going to use a guest upgrade cert. You have to watch for U space to open up and initiate the upgrade yourself -- the system won't do it for you.

Anyone have info to the contrary?
No WL for Guest Upgrade Certificates.
