OP if you are not able to go anywhere with Staples or GMC, dispute the charge on AMEX. At this point is more important you dont lose the $500 than keeping the $25 rebate. Simple math.

You never receive the merchandise you ordered, regardless the promotion. Hence a dispute is in order. Keep in mind you have a strict window on filing the dispute.
