Thanks Mats! We've been fortunate enough to be able to travel to some interesting places and I've noticed that often times I forget little observations while on the trip so this is my attempt to put a few of these things down and reflect on our experiences.
I think your son's comment about wanting to go to the Kotel is pretty hilarious.
Yeah, it took us by surprise. He hasn't been at that preschool for over 2 years now but still remembers his friends and teachers fondly. His class would also make challah before Shabat every week so he got super excited about seeing all the 'fancy' challah for sale at the markets. Just never know what impresses kids!
I'm glad you got to see the Rikudai Am (folk dancing) at Gordon Beach. I go to watch them every Saturday. It's sponsored by the City of Tel Aviv-Yafo, and I'm pretty sure it's every week. They practice on Monday evenings I think. Some of the dancers have been the same for years.
Ahh, good to know. At first it almost appeared to be spontaneous, but watching it for a few minutes made us realize it wasn't. So cool to see some 80+ year old dancers cutting it on the borderwalk while people are playing mad games of paddle tennis about a hundred meters away!
Enjoy the rest of your stay here, and don't be afraid to ask if you need anything. Sorry it's a bit cloudy today.
Thanks, but this trip was actually over a year ago. Sorry I wasn't clear about that. I'm just finally getting around to organizing the pictures. In fact, we completed an Eastern European trip about 6 months after this trip!
