Fantastic photos! And a great first time writing a trip report!
I think your son's comment about wanting to go to the Kotel is pretty hilarious.
I'm glad you got to see the Rikudai Am (folk dancing) at Gordon Beach. I go to watch them every Saturday. It's sponsored by the City of Tel Aviv-Yafo, and I'm pretty sure it's every week. They practice on Monday evenings I think. Some of the dancers have been the same for years.
Likewise, I'm glad you paid a visit to the wineries, even if cows were in the road.
Indeed, it would be unnerving if you saw someone put on tefillin and start praying in the aisle of an airplane. If you hadn't seen it before, I think it would be very frightening. A few years ago, the FBI questioned passengers who put on tefillin on a flight from México City to Los Angeles.
I also had GPS misadventures getting to Tiberias years ago. I know what that fear feels like!
Enjoy the rest of your stay here, and don't be afraid to ask if you need anything. Sorry it's a bit cloudy today.
