My plan is to requalify on stays this year, specifically because my travel is mostly leisure and there's no Hyatt near any of our corporate locations anyway. I don't have 50 nights to spend in hotels, so my only shot is 25 stays.
If I'm traveling on my own, which is rare, I'll change hotels. Otherwise, for family trips westbound, we seem to be ok spending a night at a Hyatt near the airport on arrival, and then moving to our "actual" destination the next day, for the remainder of the trip - but that's been because our arrivals are mostly at night.
If I'm up over 15 stays as we get into the fall, I'll pad it out with inexpensive one night stays (or even just check in and leave) to get there - we have a Hyatt in Portland that has inexpensive off season rates and great cash and points availability. Diamond status has been great, but I'm probably not willing to plow an additional $1000 into it above and beyond.
