Sorry to bump an old thread, but what I'm curious about is which row in coach has the most legroom? It sounds like you are saying Row 6 on all 737-800s and -900s is now pitched at 40." I thought the pitch in the exit rows was around 38", indicating that row 6 would now have slightly more legroom than rows 16 and 17.

If so, it seems like row 6 is now preferable to row 17, given that you have a normal seat cushion, can deplane faster, and get first crack at BOB in coach. The presence of the curtain does not bother me.
