To my own surprise, again, I find myself completely agreeing with sbm12.

At least for me, some of the shilling stuff -- and shilling it is to be sure -- is actually useful and informative. Recently, for example, I was alerted to the 40% bonus on Amex point transfers to Avios. The various monthly "best CC offers" posts, for another example, I always at least glance at in case something actually worthwhile shows up, and I especially get a kick out of The Points Guy's periodic roundups of miles/points values and changes. Not that I'm a credit card guy or anything, of course.

I focus on the positive, the good. I read stuff that's interesting and informative for me and ignore the rest. Life is short.
