I changed to silver on January 7th (up from bronze) - does this have anything to do with it?

Please let me know which seat is best from remaining 12A, 15K and 16K. Seems to be a 777-300 if row 16 is present.

Did you make the booking whilst Bronze, and select the seat after you became Silver?
