Our expense accounting was outsourced, and the new group only knows how to work by a very rigid and literal formula and cannot tolerate anything remotely unusual. Everyone in my department has had problems being reimbursed.
I have a few situations where one night stays proved convenient. When we go to skiing on a weekend I always stop at a category 1 Hyatt the first night so the kids can go to bed on time. I've got a one nighter at an airport and a bunch of one nighters when I'm combining the end of a work trip with the start of a college reunion (plus a side trip with a friend). But still my count, by stays, is too low.
