I've had my Wyndham Rewards Visa Platinum for just over 2 years. Annual fee hit 2 days ago. I called today, February 4, 2015, to cancel and had my $69 annual fee waived PLUS was offered 5000 bonus points after $1000 spend within 90 days from today as well as a CLI from $3500 to $5500. I asked if the CSR could upgrade my card type from Visa Platinum to Visa Signature since my CL is now over $5000, but as that was considered a product change, I was not allowed to do that.
Last year, the only "spending" I did was a $1500 balance transfer. The year before, it was significantly under $1000 total in purchases.

The first time I called, I asked to do a credit reallocation from this card to another one of my cards. I made no mention of cancelling. I was transferred to an office that was closed, the "credit department". So I called back, and was a little angry and just told them I want to cancel due to the annual fee as well as this icing on the cake.

I wanted to be very detailed here since there aren't other posts regarding the Wyndham cards from Barclays.
