AA (internally) announces first Boeing 787-8 / B788 route
I would emphasize utilization for the best way for AA to maximize the value out of the 788. at first there will be teething problems, but the 788 would make a great transatlantic plane flying a rt in 24 hours.
For Asia, AA's issue is the configuration of their planes are too premium heavy. if the 788s go transatlantic, what would make sense would be the US A332s going transpacific, particularly LAX. fewer J seats, strong J product (similar to 77w and better than ngbc), lower cost than 772 to operate.
GRU, EZE, GIG and SCL should stick with 777s/763 as the long overnight is a waste of the 788s fuel efficiency.
