Exactly. A step down for a JW.

We were considering the JW Marriott Cherry Creek for an upcoming meeting this Spring. I just spoke with my contact there, apparently this is a corporate directed pilot at the JW Cherry Creek along with two other JW Marriotts (she did not specify which ones). In lieu of the concierge lounge being closed any Gold or Platinum elites are being offered 1000 points per night or a $15 restaurant voucher per room per night to cover breakfast or apps in the restaurant in the evening. (Note that continental breakfast in the Second Home Kitchen is currently $10.)

All furnishings have been removed from the JW Marriott Cherry Creek concierge lounge and its currently being used for meeting space. It will most likely be converted to guest rooms later this year.

What is most alarming, is the fact that its a pilot test at what used to be one of the best concierge lounges in the US. Looks the CL benefit may be disappearing soon! Wonder if anything will be said about this during the investor conference call with Arne on February 19.

RIP...
Well, if it's a "pilot" why are they dismantling the exec lounge? One would think it would be keep it closed for the trial period.

Also sounds like your contact isn't totally up on things, given that the $15 voucher needs to be for elite & the +1, for a total of $30. The Marriott T&C exec lounge policy is if there is no lounge it's 750 points or cont'l brekkie for elite plus guest, not per room. Also doesn't help those of us who use the lounge more in the evening than in the morning.

While I don't intend to be in DEN anytime soon, the JW Cherry Creek is off my list when I do visit the Mile-High City.

Cheers.
