I am a huge fan of Google Maps when traveling. I generally get a local SIM and use it to do all sort of things including finding directions when driving, using it to find cross streets when going out for the evening, using it to find hotels, money exchangers, gas stations, etc.
But in Chile - it is terrible. It constantly places restaurants and hotels in the wrong place (not even close to where they actually are). It doesn't show any streets where there are streets. It shows streets driving into and over the lakes. It says no directions found when there obviously are ways to drive from one city to the next. It shows drive estimates to be double what it actually takes to drive from place to place. I keep getting to airports and hotels hours early! What gives? Is there an alternate service one should use when in Chile - because clearly it isn't Google Maps
