Of course they would. They make too much money off of late fees to make it easy for you. I clearly need to find a card to replace my Chase/BA card. It's just a Signature card, so it's not like I'd miss the limit. The only reason I have it is because it has chip (although no pin) and no foreign transaction fee. My Wells Fargo card is now chip + PIN, but has a hefty fee.
