Hello all! First time user here and already learned so much by going through all the post here!

So my fiance and I are planning our honey moon to Moorea and Bora Bora and we are hoping to cover almost the entirety of the trip with our points. (So far we got ICN-NRT-PPT-LAX flights covered with points!!)

All the posts I read regarding Bora Bora says it's the worst place to redeem points, but we are short on cash but have decent amount of SPG points (700k). We first started looking into staying at St.Regis but it just didn't make sense to spend so many points. So we are going with Le Meridien in August, and 5 nights of stay in a beach bungalow is costing us 350K SPG points. We are hoping my fiances platinum status can get us an upgrade to an OWB when we get there, but how likely is this? I know it's the peak season, but anyone got a clue? Should we just spend extra 70K and upgrade to an OWB?
