I finally got a response, to my complaint that meals was not offered for sale in Y on AA 2318 from LGA to MIA (scheduled time 3h23m), 29 days after I pointed out that their first response referenced the wrong flight:

Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. On behalf of US Airways and the new American Airlines, we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

I am sorry you were disappointed that you didn't receive a meal on your flight. We continue to make changes to our meal service based on a variety of factors. Complimentary food service is offered in first class on all cities systemwide that have flying times over 2 hours 45 minutes and operate within traditional meal windows (breakfast, lunch, dinner). We offer food for purchase in our coach cabins on most flights.

In view of the fact that you anticipated receiving a meal on your flight but did not, I can understand your request for an adjustment. However, we must respectfully decline. Your ticket price represents the cost of the transportation provided. The meals and snacks we serve aboard our flights are complimentary conveniences.

Again, thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back onboard a US Airways and new American Airlines flight soon.
I did not make a "request for an adjustment." I just wanted to know why meals for sale were not offered on that flight.

The meals for sale AA serves aboard its 3h+ flights in Y are not "complimentary conveniences;" they are services (and goods) advertised as available for sale, on the web site and even in the on-board materials.

I still have the feeling AA did not really pay "attention" to my "concerns."
