Except that in many parts of the world (including the USA) it's not. Whether you like it, or not. So by not tipping the customary amount, you only punish the server; not the business owner.
I assume you tell your server at the start of the meal that you don't really believe in the whole tipping thing, and plan to only tip a minimal amount?
