I was one of the first shut-downs 2 years ago and it had nothing to do with any of the above. After getting several cards and a high CL, Chase got an ARS or IDA report on me. There was an unfavorable neighbor remark on it. People think ARS/IDA are only problems with US Bank but Chase uses them too if your credit lines get high.

There is absolutely no benefit to keeping these reports open and everyone should freeze them a.s.a.p.:

Even though I had to sue Chase to get my points out, I've been able to start getting new Chase cards after 2 years.
