Booking two rooms (separate bookings) - breakfast query

Hi,

I am Gold (maybe Diamond by the time the stay arrives).

I am travelling on my own (but usually tend to book for 2 in case my wife joins me, but is 99% unlikely to on this trip)

A colleague has asked me to book a room for him and another colleague (both male). No problem.

I have to make two bookings as if I opt for 2 rooms, the twin is not an option.

Now my name will be first on both, although I will obviously not sleep in both rooms!

I was going to book a breakfast package for the twin, as they do not hold any status or even the Hhonors card, but will need to eat in the morning.

But do I need to?

I suppose worst case scenario is that one of them could use my second breakfast place, and then we would pay for breakfast for the other or would I simply get breakfast on both rooms? The hotel does not use coupons.

I could also book just one person into the twin, as the inclusive breakfast rate is a lot cheaper, but the danger is that they might change it to a double!

Any thoughts?

How does it work?

It is a doubletree if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
