Would they take away an upgrade if you show up towards the end of boarding? One posted is suggesting that basically but I've never had that happen to me. I've never had an upgrade clear via email, so I do ask when I walk up to the gate, sometimes it's a no, but often they just look over at where they keep the Standby BPs and they go "oh yea, here you go". One time I didn't ask, walked on, found my 12C occupied and then the FA checked my name and realized I was upgraded. So maybe I've just never been in the situation to have my upgrade "revoked" but I've boarded pretty much last and it's never happened.
