Yea, definitely getting off topic now, but last response to it to close it off...
But yah, I was surprised too. Took this flight only couple weeks ago. AC142 on 77W. Scheduled departure was 8:00, official boarding started 7:05 noted right on the boarding pass too. OK, sorry, bad math, 55 minutes before. Half the plane boarded already by the time I got there based on the usual boarding time. Maybe it's quiet new change for 2015.

Edit: Also, why I said boarding time depends on the plane, is basically the comment check-in agent made and stated that he forgot that because it's 777, boarding is earlier now
