On the seats question no, even if you book it your free seat selection benefit as a GCH doesn't work on a booking where you are not travelling.
Based on that I am not sure whether there is any benefit of you booking using your friend's cc. If you are booking you need to use your cc surely and not your friend's?
They are paying for their own flights with their own card its just that they are not confident of getting all the flights right so i said i would organise for them.
Ive just called BA and they are £330 per person dearer than whats on the ITA Matrix site.
