It's notable that the OP hasn't commented as yet on the other posts as yet. Good advice is given and common sense seems to prevail in the vast majority of posts. Maybe the parent is a first time father and is a little overly protective - unless my child's cough had persisted and was causing distress (to the baby) I would not have taken him/her to a doctor's, however, no harm done I guess, by doing so.
Compensation? Is this the main reason for the physician's visit etc? Hopefully not, but the whole debacle seems a tad over-reactive.
